The Organizers of the 41st Symposium and Scientific Committee have made provisions for prizes to be awarded to participants under and over 35 years of age, who present “the most interesting presentation” and “the best poster”.

“The most interesting presentation” award for a participant more than 35 years of age consists of:

  • A voucher for publishing an open access article that is submitted before the end of May 2019 for the individual and/or his/her supervisor to Acta Chromatographica. The manuscript will undergo the regular reviewing procedure. The award is funded by Prof. Teresa Kowalska, Editor-in-Chief of Acta Chromatographica.
  • A Waterman fountain pen, headscarf (for a women) or a tie with pocket-handkerchief (for a man), which were specially designed for the 50th anniversary of the University of Silesia in Katowice. The award is funded by the Rector of the University of Silesia in Katowice.
  • A 50% discount of the registration fee, which will be deducted from the basic registration fee for the next Symposium edition.
  • For a local prize winner only: the possibility to assist in one measurement mission of a unique aerial laboratory (balloon ULKA) that is equipped with the instruments that are used to monitor atmospheric contaminants.

“The most interesting presentation” award for a participant under 35 years of age consists of:

  • A Logitech presenter with a laser pointer. The award is funded by Head of the Institute of Chemistry, the University of Silesia in Katowice, Poland.
  • A Waterman fountain pen, which was specially designed for the 50th anniversary of the University of Silesia in Katowice. The award is funded by the Rector of the University of Silesia in Katowice.
  • A 50% and 30% discount of the registration fee, which will deducted from the basic registration fee for the next Symposium for the award winner and his/her supervisor, respectively.

“The best poster” award for a participant above 35 years old consists of:

  • Waterman fountain pen specially designed for the 50th anniversary of the University of Silesia in Katowice. Award is funded by Rector of the University of Silesia in Katowice.
  • Collection of unique craft beers including university beer made by “BioWar”.
  • 30% discount of registration fee deducted from basic registration fee in the following Symposium edition for award winner.

“The best poster” award for a participant under 35 years of age consists of:

  • A Waterman fountain pen, which was specially designed for the 50th anniversary of the University of Silesia in Katowice. The award is funded by the Rector of the University of Silesia in Katowice.
  • A collection of unique craft beers including the university beer made by “BioWar”.
  • A 50% discount of the registration fee, which will be deducted from the basic registration fee for the next Symposium edition for the award winner.
